To My Fellow Retirees:

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OUR FELLOW RETIREES AND THEIR FAMILIES:
 
I must start this newsletter out with how happy I was with the attendees at last month’s luncheon.  I was so good to see newly retired members Johnny Morris, Bill Bourke, Tom Heintz and Joe Slivka and Joe's lovely wife Roberta, sharing the afternoon with us.  I hope our older retirees continue to attend as we bring in new faces.
 
Well the primary is over and it's on to the main event.  I hope everybody has been watching what has been going on.  The Republicans have attacked everything from the Union Workers to the middle class and women as well.  I guess the easier question is what they haven’t attacked.  I must and you must remember that their attacks have just begun.  We must fight back for our Union and our beliefs and for what is good for the people of America.  We are under attack from the rich and corporate America partnered up with the Republican Party.
 
Well, it was suggested to me by a fellow retiree that we try Rockwell Inn again so I went to see them to schedule a luncheon.   I was told by Rockwell that they do not open until 4:00 in the afternoon.  So for our April meeting we will be heading to Merichka's Restaurant at 604 Theodore St.; Joliet, IL (Map).  I will try to line up a speaker so please plan to attend.
 
And now as the saying goes April showers bring May flowers but it also brings another birthday for fellow retirees, Pete Bertain, Hank (The Wild Man) DeSandre, John Shierholz, Dick Voitik, Pete Remond and Mike Patrick.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY from all of us and many more.
