Overview of Normal Pension:
If you retire from active service at 62 with a minimum of 5 years of Vesting Service you are eligible under the provisions of the Plan for a Normal Pension.
Your pension could begin the first of the month following the receipt of a completed application form. In addition to the application form, we would need a copy of your birth certificate and if you are married and selecting a Survivor Form Of Payment, a copy of your spouses birth certificate and a copy of your marriage certificate.
The Normal Pension benefit is determined by the years of benefit service multiplied by the benefit rate in effect at time of leaving covered service.
If you leave covered employment after July 1, 1999 and you have reached age 60, you could file for an unreduced Early Retirement Pension. This benefit is calculated the same as a Normal Pension.
Under the Normal Pension however, you are permitted, while receiving a pension benefit, to still work within the Sheet Metal Industry for up to 39 hours per month. If you do plan on working up to the 39 hour monthly maximum, while it will not affect your pension benefit, you should still notify the Fund Office that you are working.
