Pension Fund

Death Benefit

In the event of death prior to retirement, your spouse or beneficiary would receive 60 months of benefits at the amount you would have been eligible at age 60. The pension would start with the first of the month of your death.

If married, your spouse would have the option to receive a lifetime pension starting at the time you would have reached age 55. The benefit would be figured by multiplying your years of  benefit service times the benefit rate at death less the Joint & 50% Survivor Option Factor.  Your spouse would then be eligible to receive 50% of that figure.
