The following enhancements have been made to the Health and Welfare Benefit Plan:

Effective June 1, 2006:

The annual maximum for the Routine Physical Exam Benefit for the member and spouse will increase from $300.00 to $500.00

The annual maximum benefit for retirees and their spouses over the age of 65 will increase from $1,000.00 to $1,500.00 for the member and from $800.00 to $1,200.00 for the spouse.  The initial inpatient Medicare Part A deductible will continue to be covered as a separate benefit.

A new benefit has been established to cover breast, cervical, colorectal and prostate cancer screenings. The benefit will cover recommended screenings based on the age of the patient and the recommendations of the American Cancer Society. This benefit will be in addition to the Routine Physical Exam Benefit. If a PPO Provider provides the services the charges will be paid at 100% of the PPO fee schedule. If a non-PPO Provider is used the charges will be paid at 80% of the usual and customary charges as determined by the Fund.
